I am a contemporary vocal teacher based in Sandringham Johannesburg, with a diploma
in music obtained at Damelin Bramley Music School. I have been teaching for five
years.
I was trained in the Eve Boswell Method of vocal production which is, in my opinion, one the most well rounded vocal courses that are available. This method is one of the few that has been designed to be safe for children. It allows for constant growth while, if followed correctly, ensures vocal safety. Should my students wish to acquire certification for their singing, the Eve Boswell Foundation has four levels of exams to take part in: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced and the Teacher's exam.
I also offer Rock School training from grade 1 to grade 8, in which I follow the
Trinity Rock School books and prepare my students for exams should they wish
to do
them.
Whether following Eve Boswell or Rock School, the pace at which each student works through each level depends on them. It could take three months or it could take a year per level.
I generally insist that each student always be working toward something, be it an exam, a singing competition or a performance at one of my concerts.
For optimum vocal growth I insist on strict goals, hard work and passion from every one of my students.
